world champs representatives:

As most of you know we have three competitors heading to represent Australia form our club at the forthcoming World Championships in Wellington New Zealand in March. Lauren Khull will compete in the womens senior microweight sparring, Gabrielle Anastasio in the Junior lightweight sparring and 1st degree patterns and team events and Isabella Weston in Junior 1st degree patterns. They are all doing intensive training now for this event so your support and encouragement would i'm sure be welcomed by all or our competitors. I will be at this event in my capacity as the Official umpire from Australia

Invited Instructor:

Early in April we will be hosting a number of seminars conducted by world medalist Christine Young from New Zealand who will do workshops for us on kicking techniques and women's self defence.   

Gradings

There will be three set gradings this year on the following dates:

Sunday 17th April

Sunday 28th August

Sunday 11th December

Other gradings may occur as needed but students should plan to test on these dates.

Competitions this year.

We are still finalising the program for this years Tournaments but already we know the following championships will be held

General Choi Cup hosted by Il Shim Taekwon-Do on the 12th February ( go to www.itfaustralia.com.au for details )

The ITF Taekwon-Do Tasmania State championships will be held later in the year at a date to be determined.

Insurance and Annual Fees.

Our annual Insurance is due at the beginning of April so we need to cover this cost before then. If all students could pay the required fee before the end of March it would be appreciated. We will also need to collect the annual ITF Taekwon-Do Tasmania fee in July for the next financial year. Whilst this fee may seem an impost it will provide us with the funding necessary to run our website and assist in bringing senior instructors to Tassie and in the difficult task of applying for grants from funding bodies. This in turn will benefit all members of the body.
